Funding the innovation chain

The Sophia Business Angels club is a group of international, experienced entrepreneurs and managers, who meet in Sophia Antipolis, Southern France, the high-tech capital of Europe.

The club was created in 2003 by several co-founders, including M. Pierre Lafitte, creator of the Sophia Antipolis technology park.

Today, SBA club has around 50 highly qualified members from 18 different countries, from North and South America to Northern Europe. The club members invest in early stage projects, i.e. local, national or international start-ups, thus providing a good return on investment.

Since the club has got several expertise in Finance, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Energy, the members work in close collaboration to find the best possible investment opportunities worldwide.

In addition to the direct investments done by the members, SBA has already created several investment vehicles in collaboration with Meeschaert Gestion Privée to allow investing in the early stage as in the development phases.

Moreover, SBA organizes several events in the Sophia Antipolis region, dedicated to the Business Angels and the entrepreneurs.  : The investment forum  « Going International » in the scope of the European Project EurOffice Services in  November 2009, the EBAN Winter University in November 2010, quarterly editions of Start-Up Factory the Start-Up Invest event, which first edition occurred on May 13^th 2011.
